LOGO

YANHANHA NGURANGGU (GOING HOME)

This project was developed for the Orange Local Aboriginal Land Council (OLALC) and their creation of an Indigenous youth care program based in the Central West area of NSW - The Yalmambirra Group.

Yalmambirra, meaning to “Teach”, focuses on development programs and care of Indigenous youth aged from 0-5 years. This required my brand identity to incorporate a youthful, “fun” but also cultural connection. The idea was thought of during playing with my own toddler and the placement of coloured cups in the pattern showcased below. Showcasing the “playful” side of the branding. The basic concept of the logo is of the elder in the middle, surrounded by youth and the “teaching” beginning. While the colours represent the seasonal cycle and that learning is never ending.
